How the UCA Can Help Water Consumers
Bill 14 (An Act to Empower Utility Consumers) came into force on December 1, 2018, and expands the mandate of the UCA to include water, sewage and drainage customers. The UCA protects water consumers by:
- providing mediation services to help Albertans resolve concerns with their water utility providers, and
- educating consumers about water utilities through its website, consumer contact centre and at trade shows and other community events.
