For sustainable home building from provincial and municipal governments as well as major utility companies and financial institutions across Canada. The incentive and rebates vary by project type (single family home, high density, renovation, new build). Single family new homes certified Built Green may be eligible for a partial mortgage loan insurance premium refund (~25%). Energy efficient homes combine long-term cost savings on electricity, natural gas and water with increased resale value (~10% more than less efficient homes). |
Supports the development of indigenous energy efficiency housing projects and is open to all First Nation, Inuit and Métis communities and housing organizations committed to housing improvements. In addition to housing improvements, the program includes community engagement, a webinar series on the basics of energy efficiency and in-person training. |
